Make sure you check the Calendar.

When you’re organising an event, there are many things that you need to think of so that it runs smoothly. But in this blog, we’re going to focus on one major aspect.

To help get our point across, we’ll tell you a story based on one of our personal experiences. If anything at all, it will give you a laugh.

A while ago, we received an enquiry from a client who requested that an act perform at their event in Inverness, no problem at all. So we checked our diary, the act was available, so they were booked in to perform at the event.

It’s all quiet when we arrive at the event, which is normal as we arrive early for soundcheck etc. but as the night went on, it didn’t get any busier, only two people decided to attend, so the client still requested that our act perform to these two people.

We couldn’t understand why no one, apart from two people, had turned up. It wasn’t till later on that we realised that ‘Rockness‘, a popular music festival, was playing that weekend, so most people in that area would have been there instead of this event.

So the moral of the story is when planning your event, always check what’s happening around your date. The last thing you want is to have spent a lot of money organising your event, only for nobody to turn up because something else is on.
